Cisco to boost Australian digital transformation

Networking giant Cisco plans to spend $61 million over the next three years to boost digital transformation in Australia

The local part of Cisco’s Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) program will focus on inclusive growth, skills development and innovation in industries where Australia is placed to be a global leader in the digital economy.

In co-operation with government, industry and community organisations, the program will develop and fund projects in four key areas:

  • Digital government, including education, healthcare and infrastructure

  • Digital industry, including mining and agriculture

  • Digital SMB, including investment in start-ups, entrepreneurs and venture funds, plus ensuring that Australian SMBs get access to digital technologies and services

  • National infrastructure development, including support for a secure transition to digital services enabled by the NBN, 5G, IoT and AI.

CDA also includes the expansion of Cisco's Strategic Innovation Group (CSIG) locations in partnership with selected universities throughout Australia.
